Hi everyone – we have been having a few challenges. People come – people go. They take their skills. You know the drill. Anyhow we making new attempts. So let me share with you an exciting new project starting in June.

Mariannridge has a seriously growing TB epidemic and MCC community facilitators have been spending time in the primary and high school teaching learners about what is TB, how it can be spread, how can I be prevented and how we can get treatment as well as give support to those on treatment. So ask your child about TB and have an interesting conversation.

In April we spend a week in Hilton College with PACSA in a Bopha Siyakhona World Cup experience. Eight young men and their coach, Maxwell Green attended. Team members were: Hilton Damons; Keagan Kenny ; Jovay Walker; Dillon Stanley; Kerwin Fortein; Bevan Calloway; Denzil Hattingh and Sheldon Ogle. Our team did very well, though they played in mixed teams. Jovay scored 11 goalsfor his team and Bevan scored 6 goals for his team. Dillon took over the coaches job in his team because he was so skilled. Marianridge has talent is what we know for sure. I am told that Dillon is playing for Wits second team in Jhb. Well done Dillon. And if anyone out there knows any opportunity for soccer development – talent scouts – please send them to Mariannridge. Our guys are on the football grounds everyday. Thanks to our guys for doing so well.
